  1. We have had that happen a few times, but most of the time our PST could get to that block. Tackle Trap with the sucker pull has been very good to us over the past decade. It has been so effective that it has actually helped us on running belly, because it causes the BSLB to hesitate on Belly instead of scraping over so fast.
  2. We ran Belly Sweep this year to the 3 line & 2 line with an X Reach as the blocking scheme. We are a Jet & Rocket team but don’t run Buck. The belly sweep has been a good add for us since it is a no motion flank play & we run a lot of Belly.
  3. Slick! Very good timing with fake to the jet back.
  4. No, we ran it vs under fronts also but to the weak side. Basically if we got a 3 tech we ran it to that side. Harder to run it vs straight 50 since the tackle had to turn out a 4 tech.
  5. Possibly. Really big hole when the tackle & tight end block out. Once the 3 tech squeezes down to take the FB it’s a thing of beauty.
  6. My favorite play out of our I Wing was the double dive play. We blocked it like midline and the I back took a counter step away to help with timing. Had some big plays against even front teams when we got a 3 tech
  7. This package has “saved my butt” several times the past two seasons since implementing it.
  8. Had some success with Boot Throwback routes off of joker motion. One was to the wing on the TE side (seam route), the other was a wheel to the fullback (offset to the TE/wing side).
  9. This past season we added this short yardage package for the first time & it was a HUGE factor. One thing that helped us was sprinting to the ball out of the huddle & not giving the defense a chance to get comfortable (we play a lot of teams that play strong side/weak side defenders). We would alternate between East & West multiple times throughout the game. FB dive was very good to us as teams tried to read our Blast back (he was our best player), so sometimes I would send our Blast back away from the play when we ran the FB dive.
  10. I also like running tackle trap from this formation & prefer to run it with the wingback. We run No-Mo Toss & Belly out of that formation along with counters back the other way. I like most tackle traps to the set halfback because it hits faster, but I try to run it about any formation possible. What is your favorite formations to run tackle trap from?
