  1. great. We will give this a try. Thanks
  2. Looking for a couple passes to the TE/wing flank. I'd like to have something to take advantage of corners playing up like linebackers to stop sweep. Does anyone have a roll out and or play action pass off bucksweep?
  3. Is rocket a less expensive play than Jet? Our sprint out package is all based on Jet motion and the jet guy runs a 1 yard flat route. would the sprint package work out of rocket motion?
  4. We've ran rocket the last couple years. This year we started running into blitzing corners but they wouldn't do it every time so we were just kind of guessing when to try and pass and when to run the rocket. We took several plays for loss. I haven't ran enough rocket to know how to counter all the different things teams do. I've heard of some teams that run their jets a little different than us. They don't run them wide like we have. They want their jet guy to turn up right outside the tackle. They pull the guard as a kick out. Ends up being a lot like a buck sweep. We try to reach everything and only turn out if we absolutely have to. These guys quit trying to reach and just kick out. The problem we run into is sometimes we have jet guys who can read that block and keep their speed up and either fly outside or dip inside. But other years we have guys who get indecisive and then they usually make a bad read.
  5. I’ve seen belly and down sweep ran a few different ways. Some pull both guards with FB winding back so he doesn’t hit the backside guard. Some just pull back side and some just pull quick side. Any thoughts on what works best would be appreciated.
  6. We run a lot of formations. This last year I would guess we ran jet out of 15 or so different looks. It was a great play for us for years. We averaged over 7 yards a carry with jet for 3 straight years. It’s not a terrible play for us now but we practice it a lot and only run it 3-4 times a game most weeks.
  7. Coaches we are a bucksweep team and as you know bucksweep is a very expensive package. We have also been a jet team but Jet over the last several years has gotten worse and worse for us as teams have figured out how to defend it. I'm looking to add another package and wondering how you would rank these packages as far as how expensive they are to implement. With Bucksweep being our base package I cant afford to add another time extensive package. These are the packages I'm considering out of a double wing look. Down/Belly with Down sweep and belly sweep Down/Belly with Down option and belly option Any advice?
  8. Last year we finally got to the point that we became a pretty good Sally team. I replaced all of our counters except for Buck XX with Sally. I'm wondering if anyone has a play action pass they use off a fake sally?
  9. Thats all the same stuff I worried about. How does Jet Down work to the SE flank? Would you use the Jet back as your kick out?
  10. This is actually how we have been running what we call Belly. The only difference is our FB takes one small side step before attacking the hole. A couple problems we have had is the inside backer fills the hole so hard that even if my half back makes the block it really plugs things up. I feel like the inside backer reads my half back on jet motion. If the halfback reach steps he knows its not belly and if the half back steps inside he knows belly is coming and fills hard. The 2nd problem I've faced is many of our teams are now slanting the DT into A gap and the outside backer or DE into the B gap. It makes it a very hard for my tackle to kick him out. Have you ever seen anyone with success have the jet back stop and be the lead blocker so that they can't read the half back?
  11. I've wondered about running it that way as well. We see a lot of 4 man fronts and the DE seems to squeeze when our tackle down blocks or goes to backer. I worried about our Smaller Jet guy being able to kick out a DE who is slanting inside.
  12. Coaches I'm wondering if there are any other ideas for our Jet Belly. We've ran it for years and it was a great play for us but I feel like teams have really started shutting it down the last couple years. I feel like they are reading our slot back. If he reaches they read jet, if he goes inside they read belly. I'm wondering if anyone has the Jet guy stop and go up the hole and block backer? I know some people slide motion but I want to know if the jet guy going almost full speed can stop his motion and get in the hole and lead block? that way the slot back can influence and reach like jet? Also does anyone run a basic jet Dive instead of Jet belly?
  13. Can you tell me how you blocked it? I don't run rocket.
  14. Coaches, I'm looking for some help with a good split side package. We are a great bucksweep/trap team. Usually Jet and jet belly has been my go to on the split side but this year we are just not a good jet team. We also do not have the QB to run Belly/belly option. Our halfback is our best player and I'd like to get him the ball on a quick pitch and also a swing pass. Anyone have any suggestion or other plays we could use?
  15. Coaches these are a couple simple pass concepts that we have used in our wing t. The first is our Sting concepts. Its the Cobleigh quick passing game. We call a route to the split end. Either a slant, hitch, out, or fly. If the QB likes it he throws it and if he doesnt like it he boots away. Some of our best plays have been the TE when he boots. The entire line is slide blocking. The 2nd one is our hornet concept. We want to hit the Split end on the very shallow drag route. He bascially runs right behind the D Line. Again its full slide protection. I'm looking to add some other very simple concepts. Especially ones that work with multiple wing t formations. Any suggestions?
