  1. I'm watching coach Elrod's short yardage clinic and I have two questions. 1. When running Inside Belly/Blast, will it work with the QB reverse pivoting to make it look more like Belly? 2. With regard to blocking rules, can Belly DoDo be run with "On-to-Down" blocking rules for the 4 man-surface? Thanks in advance for all responses. As always Coach Elrod, your ideas are fantastic. Believe I used your brain for close to 20 years, lol. Thank you!!
  2. If we we were to maintain a TE/Wing, we would... *run check with me at the LOS and run at the weaker DT. *shift/or not shift to get the weaker DT to the TE side. *run Gut, Power, and Power Sweep. *play action the Safety screaming downhill.
  3. Fell asleep on the job, lol. Sorry for the late response. We installed it in 2018. It looked great, and it worked when we ran it. However, we weren't in the gun much. We had success UC and didn't want to overburden the offense and ruin a good thing. Stepped down in the winter/spring of 2019 to spend more time with my own kids, so didn't have a chance to give it another go (which I would have because the next QB in line was a good runner.)
  4. Full speed out of the huddle, no motion Rocket.
  5. Those sound like FB Belly steps. I would think that footwork would be too slow for kicking out on Power, jmo.
  6. Full speed out of the huddle, no motion Rocket.
  7. Our staff always did an overnight to one of the Glazier clinics. I always made sure a wing person was speaking. Got to listen to a ton of good wing coaches. Also made sure there was something for my defensive guys.
  8. Trap has a lot of moving parts, and it's a great play behind speed motion. Like many have stated, there are so many factors when it comes to making trap successful. We feel the 2 most important things are, the speed of the FB and eliminating the ILBs.
  9. Coaches, Thanks for the kind words. Appreciate it.
  10. Same. No Buck for us, just Belly Sweep. It's our best no motion play.
  11. Our team this year was a bunch of over-achievers. We played up a class due to a lack of schools of similar size. We battled, stayed reasonably healthy, and made a run to the State Championship game. Unfortunately for us, the state championship game didn't go our way, but still very proud of our boys. They were consistently over-matched strength and size wise, but it didn't stop them from getting the job done. Strongly believe this is partially/greatly attributed to the Hybrid Wing-T and all the ideas that we stole from this site. Thank you!!!
  12. Our 3/4 team runs 6 plays... Jet, Redlight, Jet Boot and Belly, Belly Sweep, Belly pass.
  13. We always have some warm up rounds, then we have a single elimination tournament. I sort of seed them without telling them.
  14. Sumo... *2 offensive linemen line up an arms distance across from each other. *On cadence, they both perform a correct right shoulder "on" block vs each other. *The winner drives the opposition back and out of the ring. (No cutting, turning, or throwing your opponent. You must drive the other guy straight back.) *Works on shoulder skills, beating the freeze, finish, and heart.
