  1. Sean Biser of Keyser WV does a great job of pulling his G and T on rocket Sweep Chuck Klausing
  2. Many years ago I did a clinic talk on Fund Raising People are still asking me for my notes. E mail me at clkb5401@earthlink.net for 36 ways to hav Fun in Fund Raising. Chuck Klausing
  3. I have about 100 but will name a few.Mostly from a Place kidk formation.Help call when we get a bad snap. LSU fake FG. We run a shovel pass to either wing back with the holder throwing the shovel. Throwbacks with holder running right and throw back to the kicker. Many from Muddle huddle which is pre snap formation before shifting to Place Kick formation. Swinging Gate formation. We even run a Jet from this. They are all in my Trick Play Book Chuck Klausing
  4. Many of you have heard me speak on teaching leadership to Captains and team leaders at Clinics,Camps and Banquets.E mail me at,clkb5401@earthlink.net and ask for 18 points to emphasize. Chuck Klausing
  5. Coach The Fullback fakes opposite motion and blocks the first man outside the tackle. Line can use turnback protection. Q B does reverse pivot and let the motion be the fake.He quickly gets his feet set to pass to the split end. The split end can run a 5 yd pattern,Stop, Stop and Go, Turn out, Turn out and Go. Skinny post. This play gives great value to Rocket Motion. Chuck Klausing
  6. At my camps we are teaching Rocket and Jet motion. With Rocket motion we run the sweep, Waggle and quick passing game. With Rocket motion we can run traps, down and belly series plays. Chuck Klausing
  7. I have seen tapes of and 8-9 yr old team using wedge blocking and running many Wing T plays. FB wedge, Fake to F B and hand off to WB. or H B to HB criss cross with wedge. They fake jet and F B wedge. Now they are talking about fake of Rocket Motion and running a wedge offense. Chuck Klausing
  8. All these suggestions are excellent. I believe in deviding a block into 3 parts 1. approach.2.contact,3.Follow thru Many times I have motivated blocking by grading the blocker on a 10 pt system Approach. 1.Stance. 2.Take off starting count 3. Step 1 I believe the first step in a Rt shouler block is with the left foot. 4.Step 2 I believe in the near foot near shoulder. 5. Roll shoulder.I teach to roll the shoulder paralllel to the ground. 6. Head up and pressed to shoulder So important to prevent injuries. 7.Body square with power angles. Follow thru. 8. Accelerate accomplished with good sled work. 9.Roll Hips. 10 Press out with the arms when stalemated. I have graded, youth, H S ,College and Nfl prospects this way. Chuck Klausing
  9. Coach our camp at Adrian College Michigan is July 14 to 16. At Ky Wesleyan Owensboro Ky July 11 to 13. We have a new camp at Iowa Wesleyan Mt Pleasant Ia.July 22 -24 Chuck Klausing
  10. Coaches have made some good suggestions. One of our best have been Blue formation. LHb goes in motion across and runs an arrow route. Slit end goes deep. Left T E runs an across route. Right slot delays and runs a diagonal to the left. We constantly have hit the slot diagonal for a 10yd plus gain Chuck Klausing
  11. I agree with Cards coach. A back in full speed motion is faster than a back going in motion from a stance. It is similar to a Relay Racer. Ollie Madson in the 40s ran a pitch similar to the Rocket from a standing start. There has never been another Ollie Madson Chuck Klausing
  12. Coaches What colleges do you see running the Rocket Sweep Chuck Klausing
  13. I have a 50 minute tape of Jet Seep series Cut Ups Of Pioneer In H S Loudon Cy Va H S and Ottawa Twp Ill .They pull their guards flat and just about always have him in front of the sweep. I believe it is coaching. All 3 head coaches are line coaches and teach at our camps. Chuck Klausing
  14. Tim Jobst the coach of Ottawa Twp IL is the best teacher of the reach block I have ever seen. He uses a technique like Jim Mc Nally the NFL line coach uses He does a pull step giving ground to gain ground and tries to hook like you advise. He never lets the defender come underneath and will drive the defender to the sideline if he insists on staying outside. Tim will be coaching at my IA camp and I want to spend time with him. He almost believes he can run the Jet Sweep vs any defense. Chuck Klausing
  15. I am going to coach Youth football next fall after coaching college and H S for 46 years. No one blelieves in the Jet Series more than I. Because I teach it to about 40 H S teams at my 6 camps. I am not sure that the 10to 12 yr olds can handle it. I will try with a base jet sweep, and alternate play ,a counter and a playaction pass. I know if I am coaching 8to 9 year olds the first play will be the wedge and plays off of it. I am going to keep a Diary of my daily work that might be interesting.I appreciate your advice if I can teach a base Jet series to 10 to 12 years olds. I am sure I will find out Chuck Klausing
  16. We have many teams that attend our camps that 90% of their offense is Jet Series. Pioneer H S In went undefeated withabout 10 plays. Jet sweep to slot and TE wing. Trap both ways. Waggle both ways Counter both ways Down ,Down option, and Down pass to TEWing Belly Belly option and belly pass to slot. It is what you believe in and what you can teach. Chuck Klausing
  17. Coach He starts in normatl Jet Motion but throttles down as he passed the Q B turning his pads parallel to the LOS and in a position to lead a Belly play. Chuck Klausing
  18. Canadian Motion In the summer of the 1980s I was a guest coach for the Hamilton Tigercats, coached by Frank Kush.Frank wanted me to help put in the Wing T. While in Canada I noticed the slots and flankers running a different motion which they called the bounce. They would keep their shoulder pads parallel to the LOS and slide in or out. It put them in a 3- way position to go left right and foreward. The USA motion at that time wint in one direction and the player kept his pads perpendicular to the LOS With the Canadian motion we combined it the Wing T and gained a great blocking angle. Now I see it being used with Jet motion. The 2nd best play for me in the wing T was always the F B belly. It was difficult to run from one back formation. Herschell ran an Ice that I didnt care for because the slot had to cheat in.I ask him many time Why? no belly. I see the belly being run with bounce motion leading the play. Chuck Klausing
  19. Coaches I spoke at the Double Wing Symposium in Dallas Tx this last week end on the jet series. It was attended by some of the best youth coaches around to country and Europe, Many run the Markham system which is tite double wing with a very few plays. Mostly toss sweep and counter and wedge. Simplicity seems to be their secret to success. They feel that the Jet sweep takes people out of the tackle box. Chuck Klausing
  20. Coach I have used a double wing formation with the FB alligned in the B gap close to the LOS. We run most of our Jet Plays and he is in a great position to lead the sweep. He can be in a good position to kick out on Criss Cross. We have used him as a kick out blocker in 131 and 132. The best trap I have found is to have the center influence the nose and have the F B from this position trap the nose with the Wing back from his side carry the ball on a counter Chuck Klausing
  21. Bruce you and I have a similar phillosophy on the goal line. The wing t and jet series have been great for me out in the field. On the goal line I like to go north and not east and west. I had great success with a play I called 132 keep pass that was difficult to teach in H S. I used Woody Hayes Robust T at times. I now have a formation that is great for me that I call Corn Bone. Our line is Double tite. With only corn room splits. Dont step on my corns. The Full back is up close to the Q B. so he can touch him. This placement gives him an advantage on Kick out blocks. He can help on Q B wedges. and can run a reverse Bumarewski. The H B set behind the tackles and we run belly right and left and keep pass.My last years of active coaching we were 100% in the red zone. Chuck Klausing
  22. My Travel 2004 Jan 3 to 7 AFBC clinic Orlando Fl Jan 23 to25 Nike Clinic Dallas Tx. Jan 29 to 31 Pa H S clinic Hershey Pa. Feb 13 to 14 Allentown Pa Nike. Feb 20 to 22 Double Wing Clinic Dallas Tx Mar 5 to 7 Orlando Fl Nike. I will be at Crowther Exhibit when I am not speaking Chuck Klausing
  23. Coach We only run the Down and Down Option to the TE and Wing side. Chuck Klausing
  24. The best option is what fits into your offense and what you can teach best. In our Jet offense I see teams having great success faking the Jet sweep and running the down play. Many have their jet motion get into a pitch relationship by dipping deep and the Q B after faking the down runs a down option. Chuck Klausing
  25. Ten years ago Erle Bennett of Centrailia MO came to my camp in Pal to learn the wing T. The next year he Drove a Bus load of Players and coaches to our camp in Ky. He did the same to Indiana and Mich. Erle learned the offense well. In 2002 he was 13 and 1 and in the State final. This year 2003 he was 14 and 0 and won the state championship. He certainly paid the price but it was a good investment in his future. Chuck Klausing
