Coach Elrod is a 44 year veteran of both the high school and college ranks. He has again decided to leave college coaching and return to his first love - coaching in high school. Wes will be a non-faculty coach at nearby Wilson Central H.S. and help run the offense 

He had previously coached the offensive line at Cumberland University located in Lebanon, Tennessee under legendary Wing-T "guru" Herschel Moore.

Wes served as head football coach at four high schools in the Metro Nashville school system for 23 years where he compiled an overall record of 173-81-2.

Elrod was twice named Tennessee C.O.Y. ('76 & '91). He was either district or regional C.O.Y. (4) times and was the N.I.L. "Tennessean" C.O.Y. in 1976. Wes is a member of the N.I.L. Football Hall of Fame. Elrod has coached 5 players that made it into the NFL ranks. A recent honor was the 2005 College Football Hall of Fame - Middle Tennessee Chapter "Contribution to Football Award". The past 4 years, he has been a hybrid wing-T clinician for Glazier clinics at several locations throughout the USA.

Coach Elrod holds a BS degree from UT Martin where he was a 2 yr starter in football and has a Masters degree from MTSU. Wes and his wife Dona are 30 + yr residents of Lebanon/Wilson Co. Tn.
